This journey is Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s book ‘The Jungle Book‘ which has been inspiration of Hollywood movie. On journey with this itinerary will bring to life the magical story of ‘The Jungle Book’. Looking for big cats in Pench and Kanha Tiger Reserve, this safari also offers the chance to see other wildlife including Leopards, Sloth Bears and Monkeys and host of other animals.

Start your safari in Mumbai, the commercial and financial capital of India. Also, the birthplace of Rudyard Kipling in the campus of the Sir J.J. School of Art. The wooden bungalow (where Kipling lived) is currently being restored and will be converted into an art museum.

Mumbai, India’s largest port, its commercial and industrial centre, as well as fashion capital and heart of Bollywood (India’s thriving movie industry), Mumbai is an endlessly fascinating, though initially intimidating, hive of activity. Dating back 300 years these nests of seven islands were originally inhabited by Koli fisherman. Mumbadevi or Mumbai, from which we get Bombay, was a part of the dowry of Catherine Braganza when she married Charles II in 1661.

Stay along with history at Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai – the city’s first harbour landmark hotel. For over a century this luxury hotel has been residence of Kings, celebrities and VIPs from all over world.



From Mumbai, fly to Nagpur and drive to Pench (two and half hours).

A stunning natural forest set among Central Indian Forests, Pench offers a quiet and private safari experiences. Got its name from the Pench River which traverses the Pench National Park. A dry deciduous forest of Teak trees and meandering jungle streams.

Pench has a huge wildlife, including the Tiger, Leopard, Sloth bear, Wild Dog, Gaur, Sambar, Chital to count a few. This National Park has received international acknowledgment from The Jungle Book.

Stay at Baghvan. This mesmerising Taj Safaris lodge is located on the edge of Pench National Park, A mere ten-minute drive to the park’s entrance takes our guests deep into the heart of the Indian jungle.


Kanha National Park – one of the first areas to be protected under Project Tiger, aimed at preserving this magnificent animal, and one of the largest National parks of Central India and ranked in Top 10 tourists places. Kanha forest has lush Sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines are worth experiencing.

Stay at Taj Safaris lodge Banjaar Tola, situated along the banks of the Banjaar River, overlooking the National Park. The luxurious tents have been designed in a contemporary style with pressed bamboo wall panels, elegant bamboo floors and crafted furniture.


In addition to jungle safari and other activities, explore the adjoining villages lived by the Gond Tribe. Also witness the local village market at  Mohgaon, Baihar, and Sarekha to experience the activities and madness of traditional markets you may notice some people following the barter system to get the product of their choice (mainly cattle, grains, vegetables, dairy products and local jewellery)

From Kanha, you have the option to return to Mumbai or Delhi for your departure or onward journey .
